Logan and Christian flew out from the Midwest to have their engagement photos in the beautiful giants that make up the California Redwoods. We started in one of my favorite places for Redwoods engagement photos and then headed to the windy Oregon Coast to finish the day with golden hour sunset photos. Not pictured: 30 mph winds that were blowing sand everywhere! One of my favorite things about this day was how in love these two clearly are, and the total trust and creative freedom they gave me when it came to documenting this special time in their lives! Magic was truly made.
We met at one of my favorite locations for Redwoods engagement photos, a special spot with so many fallen logs and huge ferns to run around in while the sun peaks through the trees! One of the best things about the Redwoods is that they’re open and accessible all year around! You don’t typically have to worry about snow (except for maybe over the passes to get here), and the craziest weather is usually some wind and rain. I always encourage people to check out the NPS Road Conditions site, All Trails, Trip Check cameras, and weather apps to get the most up to date info on trail and road status! We lucked out and had golden sunlight creating beautiful pockets of light in the trees.
One of my favorite things to do when visiting the Redwoods is combine it with the Oregon Coast! These two locations were about 45 minutes apart, so we made sure to take that drive time into account when planning how the evening would go. We got to the parking lot and the wind was going crazy! We let the sun sink a little more into the horizon before making our way down to the beach.
Then let’s connect! It’s one of my favorite places on the west coast and where I find romance and intimacy just kind of explodes as we explore the ancient giants and the ferns that line the forest floor. Check out this Redwoods elopement for more inspo on how your day could go, especially if eloping in the winter! Not sure on how to go about eloping in a National Park? I’m Kierstyn! Your fav traveling elopement photographer based out of Washington!
