I took Mady and Uly’s engagement photos in Cannon Beach last summer and felt immediately connected to them. So when Mady reached out this winter about photographing their Lincoln City wedding, I immediately screamed “YES” and was so excited to work with them again. Mady and Uly are middle school sweethearts and truly radiate so much love that being around them is so enlightening and honestly? Pure fun! We hopped on a couple of planning calls to iron out all the little details, but really we had a lowkey and low stress timeline so they could enjoy time with their loved ones.
We started off their Lincoln City wedding at their Airbnb that not only allowed dogs, but was big enough to let them to have most of their family stay with them too! They set up tables in the driveway to allow for a beautiful reception space and Pat-E-Mac’s BBQ catered! I came in after Mady was ready, doing some detail photos of her dress, vow books, florals, and then captured her mom and sisters helping her into her dress. I love this part of the day because there’s so much excitement in the air, both from the couple but also those closest to them that are helping in these final moments leading up to the ceremony. We then walked down the street to a spot that Mady had noticed the day before to do their first look! Mady and Uly took a couple moments together before her dad came down for a first look a little bit later before heading off to the cliffs for their Lincoln City Wedding.

While I had sent some location ideas, Mady and Uly ended up finding a spot on their own for their ceremony that was beautiful and truly perfect for their vision. It was overlooking the ocean, close to the Airbnb, and easy to access for anyone with mobility concerns. We found a quiet little spot where everyone could stand and they could exchange their vows without the eyes of every other visitor. After they said “I Do” we did their formal family photos, some couple photos, and then headed back to the Airbnb for the dinner portion of their Lincoln City wedding.

When we arrived, Pat-E-Mac’s was finishing up and the food was SO good! If you enjoy barbecue and are on the central Oregon Coast, I highly recommend! Guests were enjoying cocktail hour and visiting while Mady and Uly mingled and got settled in. Their parents and siblings gave toasts while everyone (including me) fought tears listening. They cut their cake and then we headed out for sunset photos at Yaquina Head Lighthouse, which I now think every Lincoln City wedding needs to end this way.

If you’re planning your own Lincoln City wedding, or a wedding somewhere else with similar intent and vision, then let’s connect! While I’m based close to Portland, I frequently travel (check out this Alaska elopement and this Acadia National Park wedding!) and can meet you wherever in the world you’d like to say “I do” with your person.
