Katherine and James said their vows under the trees at Silver Falls State Park during their Oregon wedding this fall. Their ceremony was intimate and intentional, with less than 30 guests in attendance: all of them flew in from out of state to witness these two say their “I Do’s”!
Katherine and James are both new to being Oregon residents but their microwedding contained everything that an Oregon wedding should! The trees, the ferns, the nature, and the crisp fall weather all worked together to make a beautiful day. Katherine did a first look with her father, and to be honest first looks with dads get me so emotional. More so than first looks between the soon-to-be betrothed!
They chose not to have a bridal party, so after Katherine’s dad escorted her down the aisle, her and James stood together in front of a grove of trees and ferns while they exchanged vows in front of their closest friends and family. They each wrote their own, and I’m not sure there was a dry eye as they made promises and proclamations of the partnership and marriage they were stepping into.
We then headed off for some private bride and groom portraits and this is one of my favorite parts of the day! I love them because we get to take twenty minutes where the couple can just soak up their recently exchanged vows, take some time to be private and intentional, and they end up just being stunning photos. Katherine and James just exude love and appreciation for each other and it showed during their bridal portraits!
We then headed back to the Evergreen Shelter to meet with the rest of their guests, do some family photos, and then dive in to dinner, toasts, and cake. They had catering from Wild Pear out of Salem and Katherine’s stunning bouquet was from Fauning over Flora, also out of Salem. This day was cozy, intimate, and magical; everything an Oregon wedding should be. Are you ready to plan your own Oregon wedding or elopement?
