Megan and Chris flew out from Georgia and knew the moody November weather would be perfect for their Oregon Coast elopement. These two were so in love with each other and they way Chris seemed to always be aware of where Megan was and what she was doing, was so unbelievably sweet. We talked about how they met, how they were best friends before they started dating (the best thing ever, am I right?!), and how their thing is traveling the world together. Most epic location yet? Their Oregon Coast elopement, of course!
When Megan and I first started corresponding and she mentioned wanting to be at the coast, we knew that Cannon Beach was where we were going! While I love all of the Oregon coastline, Cannon Beach has a great mix of ocean, forest, and panoramic views! We went to two locations that were super special, and because it was on a Monday morning, we had most of the beaches to ourselves! We started our day admiring the way the light was hitting the waves, while Chris and Megan took some time for themselves along the red sandstone cliffside. The tide was coming in and we were racing the waves, but it was such a glorious morning!
Pro tip: check out the tide tables before you go on any Oregon coast hikes! When we have small tides, that means the water may not go out far and not much of the beach may be accessible. I use this website and make sure to do this with all of my clients so they know what we’re walking in to! Another awesome tip, for many of these spots there are waterfalls at lowtide! Another great reason to do some digging with your photographer (aka ME!) before your session.
The Oregon Coast is one of my all time favorite areas to explore and it makes the perfect backdrop for any photographic experience: engagement session, maternity session, family photos, and elopements!
