I was originally supposed to do a cute couples session with Faith and Andrew near the end of June, but once we picked Mt. Rainier as the location, it quickly became apparent that we would need to push the date back due to snow. Quick fun fact about me, I am an obsessive planner. I mean that I will Google Earth the shit out of a location that I’ve never been to so I feel confident and prepared before I even get to your session. Once we decided we’d be on the Paradise side of Rainier, I began my Google research and saw that even at the end of June, it was still snowed in! How did I know this, you may wonder? The National Park Service actually has webcams up there because the weather changes so much! I use these every time I head up the mountain so I have an idea as to what I’m working with!
We pushed the session back about a month and it was so worth it. I gave Faith a fair warning before we headed up that there would be a bit of a hike, but the views would be 10/10 worth every out of breath step. As we got to the top of the hill, the landscape opened up and I was waiting for Julie Andrews to be singing and twirling around like Sound of Music. Needless to say she didn’t show up, but the hills were alive nonetheless. There’s a reason I called this blog post “Dreamy Mount Rainier Couples Session” and the proof is in the pudding, or photos?
We continued on our hike and it quickly became apparent the love that Faith and Andrew have for each other. I pride myself on my ability to connect with clients and get them to feel comfortable, but these two made it so I didn’t even have to try. Any goofy prompt I gave they ran with and our session was full of so much laughter and smiles that it just radiated in their photos. I like my sessions to feel carefree and low stress and that’s exactly how our evening felt.
We spent the couple hours we were together getting to know each other and I loved learning their love story. Faith is outgoing and bubbly and Andrew looked at her with so much love as she giggles through her stories. We worked our way back down to the Jackson Visitor Center, smiles spread across our faces and I eagerly headed back home to work on sneak peeks to give them the next morning. This location, these lovebirds, and those cotton candy skies did not disappoint.
